Sessional Instructor, Health Sciences Division (EMR / PCP)

Employment Type: Sessional Instructors - part time / casual

The Health Sciences Division at JIBC is dedicated to the education of EMR, PCP and ACP.  We welcome you to embark on a journey with us to provide the future of paramedic education across BC. 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned sections of the EMR/PCP curriculum.
  • Perform student evaluations.
  • Provide written and verbal feedback to the students.
  • Document student progress for student records.
  • Convey training concerns from students to the full time faculty.
  • Assist students with tutorials and remediation, when required.
  • Model professional behaviour and sound clinical judgement.

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivlalent in a relevant field (e.g. Health Sciences, Education, Clinical Practice).
  • Licensed through the Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Branch of British Columbia at the PCP level or higher.
  • Five years’ experience as a field practitioner (e.g., PCP or ACP).
  • Heart and Stroke Instructor Certificate.
  • Demonstrated competency in adult education and instructional design, with familiarity in learning technologies and supervision models.
  • Experience as an instructor or evaluator, delivering PCP, EMR, FR, and/or FA courses.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web browsers, mobile devices, and Blackboard.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Completion of JIBC INDC-1110 Essential Skills for Training and Facilitation course, or equivalent is an asset.

Work Arrangements:
