Employment Type: Sessional Instructors - part time / casual

The Health Sciences Division at JIBC is dedicated to training first responders, emergency medical responders, paramedics, and regulatory practitioners.  We welcome you to embark on a journey with us as we pioneer the future of paramedicine and professional health education across BC and beyond. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach all or portions of the EMR program.
  • Perform student evaluations.
  • Provide written and verbal feedback to the students.
  • Document student progress for student records.
  • Convey training concerns from students to the EMR Lead Instructor and/or Program Manager.
  • Assist students with tutorials and remediation, when required.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Licensed through the Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Branch of British Columbia at the PCP level or higher.
  • Two years’ experience as a field practitioner (e.g., OFA, EMR, PCP or ACP).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse training and development teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Canadian Red Cross Professional Responder Instructor Certificate
  • Completed the JIBC Essential Skills for Training and Facilitation (INDC-1110) course or quivalent
  • Demonstrated computer skills - Microsoft 365, Blackboard, Work processing, Email, Internet navigation and Adobe Acrobat.
